The Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) was established as the National Association of Theatre Nurses (NATN), in 1964.
It is a registered charity providing training and education, professional guidance and support to practitioners working in surgical settings and their related services. It aims to improve the quality of care in the NHS and the independent sector throughout the UK.
The association is not exclusive to theatre nurses and ODPs but includes support workers, surgeons, lecturers, theatre managers and anyone associated with perioperative care in the NHS or independent sector.
AfPP offers its members continuing professional development (CPD), online resources, advice on professional, clinical and ethical issues plus guidance on employment and tax law.
