Who Should Attend?
The AfPP congress is suitable for perioperative professionals at all levels of their career – from Theatre Managers and Directors of Nursing who are responsible for the planning and implementation of theatre procedures, to Operating Department Practitioners and Theatre Nurses undertaking a range of roles including Advanced Practice, Pre-assessment, Scrub, Anaesthetics and Recover.
The programme will also offer updates on changes in policy and good practice to take back to the work place for Clinical Educators working in hospitals or higher education. There are sessions for students and support workers providing foundations in basic skills and introducing topics relevant for non-registered and pre-registered practitioners.
The four key sessions which are suitable for all professionals cover:
- The importance of team working and personal resilience in armed conflict
- Patient safety, the abolition of the NPSA and an insight into adapting to and leading change
- The complex professional relationship between specialist nurses and doctors in hospitals
- Learning to adapt our attitude towards change, become our own inspirational leader and take control of the challenges we face and capitalise on them.
We have also identified pathways of the most relevant sessions for the three levels of role. The sessions are aimed specifically at this audience. To see more detail about the congress programme click here.
